What We Do

As a management analyst, you will prepare procedures and operations manuals that will help management become more efficient and effective. The manuals you create will also help to teach employees how new procedures work. To achieve this, you will study the organization and evaluate it, create new procedures and systems and make sure work is simplified as much as possible.

Work Environment

Usually, you will work mainly behind a computer at a desk. Office hours vary depending on the organization you work for, as management analysts can be found in different industries. Very little travel or overtime work is required for this position.

How to Become

Becoming a management analyst is usually something that people grow into. Additionally, different fields and positions often have different requirements. Oftentimes, management analysts work for the government or the military, in which case you must have citizenship and you must be able to obtain security clearance.

Training & Certification Requirements

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a field such as business administration, finance or public administration is required. You usually also have to have at least one year’s experience in a specialized and related field.
