What We Do
As an operations analyst, you will drive process improvements and systems development. You will also take part in efforts to improve processes and capabilities, as well as a range of technology projects. You will also look at available data to find trends, anomalies and find ways to improve efficiency. Finally, you will look at all operations improvements and conduct impact analyses.
Work Environment
Most operations analysts work in larger organizations. While general office hours tend to be adhered to, some overtime may be required. Travel can also be common.
How to Become
Becoming an operations analyst means you have to understand the needs of the market. A background in production or commerce is preferred, therefore. However, you must also have excellent business skills, enabling you to make recommendations and decisions.
Training & Certification Requirements
A bachelor’s degree is required as a minimum, but most organizations now prefer a master’s degree. Fields of interest include project management, operations management, computer science and engineering.
