What We Do
As a marketing executive, you will analyze and conduct competitive and market research. You will also set up goals for any marketing program your company engages in, as well as help in the design of sales-assisting resources, such as sales fliers and other tangible materials. These also include product press releases and other forms of publicity. Finally, you will be responsible for using various media and social media outlets to actually make a sales pitch.
Work Environment
While much of the work done by marketing executives can be performed from behind a desk, they usually also have to attend trade shows and other such events. As such, travel and unsocial hours are common.
How to Become
Marketing executives are experienced in various fields above all else. They often have a strong background in marketing, advertising and PR fields, as well as IT and other technology.
Training & Certification Requirements
A bachelor’s degree is generally required, but experience weighs heavier in this position.
