What We Do

Retirement analysts are a type of personal financial advisor. They are responsible for helping their clients to make plans that will suit their personal retirement goals. This means you will look at things such as portfolio management, asset allocation, financial planning, insurance, estate management, retirement tax preparation, and making investments. Additionally, you will provide a great deal of customer support as you must be able to fully explain the complex world of financial jargon and the options that are available to your various clients so that they are empowered to make the right decisions for their retirement.

Work Environment

Most retirement analysts work in offices. Some are self-employed, while others work for pension funds or banks. You will usually work during regular business hours.

How to Become

You must be able to create financial plans that your clients can understand, while also managing their portfolios and making investments. This means you need excellent analytical and communication skills.

Training & Certification Requirements

You must hold a bachelor’s degree in a field such as mathematics, business, law, finance or accounting as a minimum. Furthermore, those with CFP licenses are preferred.
